River Kayaking Courses
The Basic River Paddler
This course covers all the basic information and techniques for getting onto flat water and into a little bit of current. We usually take a short paddle on an easy section of river. You'll get:
- Basic paddling strokes and practice
- Rescues-how to get yourself and others out of the water
- Current Basics-breaking into and out of moving water
- Safety on the water
We usually teach this course in the Upper Cowichan River, near Cowichan Lake. It is intended to be for beginners with little or no river kayaking experience.
