6 days-Beginner to Intermediate, Class 1/2 -$1,395 + 5% GST
Day 0-Arrive in area, prepared for pickup the next morning. A guide will phone you to confirm pickup details.
Day 1-Travel Day: Guides and clients meet in Nanaimo at one of our pickup points (point of origin). The bus journey up island to Cougar Creek beyond Gold River, will takes about 4 hours. The first night will be spent in or near Gold River, where guides will go over kayak procedures and skills, what to bring, etc.
Day 2-The launch site for this trip is from the public launch /beach at Cougar Creek Camp site. From here the group will paddle along the shore line to Descubierta Point before crossing Hanna Channel to San Carlos Point (0.7nm). Travel then continues along the shoreline or via Verdia Island to the campsite on Charlies Beach, on the southern tip of Bligh Island (7nm).
Days 3/4/5-From Bligh Island the Spanish Pilot group can be explored as part of a day trips from Charlies Beach. If conditions allow paddlers may wish to continue their journey to the campsites at either Burdwood Bay (4.5nm) or Friendly Cove (4.5nm).
Details
Included: Transportation from the point of origin and return, park user fees, camping fees, cooking gear, camp stoves, tents, meal preparations, tarps, major first aid supplies, meals/snacks/beverages on the expedition, emergency radio or satellite phone, and professional guides.
Excluded: Transportation to point of origin, transfers, accommodation and food other than included in the itinerary, gratuities, and personal equipment.
Meals: All meals on the camping portion of the trip are prepared by our guides, who are experienced in providing nutritious and balanced meals suited to the level of activity you will be undertaking on your trip. Our guides have experience catering for a variety of dietary requirements. If you have any questions regarding food please contact us. When completing your registration information clearly state any dietary needs.
Note: Meals while travelling during travel days are not included in trip costs. Participants should ensure they have some money to cover these meals.
